4 Months and Loving Summer!!

Love the LORD your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength. 6 These commandments that I give you today are to be upon your hearts. 7 Impress them on your children. Talk about them when you sit at home and when you walk along the road, when you lie down and when you get up. 8 Tie them as symbols on your hands and bind them on your foreheads. 9 Write them on the doorframes of your houses and on your gates. Deuteronomy 6:5-9

Just a thought....
Putting God and your relationship with Jesus is hard enough in toady's world. With the time we spend watching tv, computer, listening to music, working out, work, or just the time we spend in our daily relationship with those we love, when do we have time for just our relationship with Christ. It takes time and communication to have a true relationship with someone. Especially a Love relationship.
But you would never think that would get more difficult when you have a child. Who would think? But its true! I have to be honest with my self that Ben must come second to Christ, but that's a lot easier to say then to do. It is sosooo easy to idolize your child.
It might be the hardest thing to put Ben and Ike second in my life. Ben, my own son must come second?? Yes!! But I continue to tell myself that is what it takes to be the best mother, wife and Christian.

So Ben turned 4 month old on the 17th!! Special sorry shout out to Jess about being so behind on the postings. Ben is doing great! He has stop sleeping good at night though and now wakes every 2-3 hours in the night. But we just deal and hope it will end soon. I think he has reached the age where he recognizes surroundings and is aware of strangers and he now know when he is alone.
I know I should probably just take a few nights to let him "cry it out", but I just cant bring myself to do it "yet." Maybe when he is a little older. For those of you that are not familiar with baby sleep therapy the cry it out methods is the fastest and usually the most effective sleep therapy. In which you just let them cry until the learn to self soothe. They say it only takes 3-4 nights of crying before they learn to sleep through the night. I just keep telling myself that its a temporary part of Ben growing up and that one day I will want these nights back.

How can I keep from singing!!

I sing for joy at the works of Your hands. Psalm 92:4

I just wanted to say how thankful I am for all my family. I am blessed only by the grace of God to have amazing parents and family, and a wonderful mother who showed me how to be the best mom I can be. Thanks to Ike family for all your love and support. Ben is the most amazing gift. I can not help but sing for Joy! Literally!!

Hello Food!!

Like newborn infants, long for the pure spiritual milk, that by it you may grow up to salvation– if indeed you have tasted that the Lord is good.
1 Peter 2:2-3

Ben is 14 weeks this weeek! We decided to go ahead with the solid foods. Dr. recommends waiting till he turns 4 months, but he is just so big and hungry all the time we are introducing it to him a little early. He did really good and took it right away.

This is Ben's new toy "Sophie the Giraffe", well at least thats her real name. Trying to come up with a boy name for it. He loves it!

3 Months Old

We went to Maysville this past weekend, and had great weather on Saturday so we decided to take some pics. Ben is sporting his Jordan outfit that Uncle Jess got him, it makes him look like he ready for tonight's playoff game. But who cares about basketball when the Reds are in 1st!!!! Ben is starting to play with toys now. He is able to grab and take things from us now. Its is so much fun to watch him develop. Once he picks up something he just really takes off with it.

Ben is most happy when naked!
Go Reds!! Ben probably shouldn't but he already watches every reds game with Ike.

Ben is still loving the water and I wish the weather would straighting up here at our house so I can get him in the little pool I got. I cant wait to put him in his new swim trunks that uncle Andrew and Caroline got him!

12 Weeks Old!!

Behold, children are a heritage from the LORD, the fruit of the womb a reward. Like arrows in the hand of a warrior are the children of one’s youth. Blessed is the man who fills his quiver with them! He shall not be put to shame when he speaks with his enemies in the gate.
Psalms 127:3-5

Mother's Day At Ruby Tuesdays.

Ben went to the doctor on Monday for his late 2 month appointment, so it was more like his three month appointment. Everything went really well. I love his new pediatrician and the office is so nice. My friend Kelly recommended the office to me. Thanks Kelly! Ben is now 25 and half inches long and 15.5 lbs. The doctor says he is the size of an average 6 month old. Tell me about it!! In the pictures below he is in 9 month sleepers. His other clothes like shorts and onsies are still 6 month. He is so vocal now I swear he can carry on a conversation with you. Its all mumble jumble but you know he just trying to say something. So funny. He still hasn't found a love for the tummy time, but we are working hard to change that. He is also sleeping so good these days anywhere from 5 to 7 hours. His days in his bassinet are dwindling. I love taking pictures of him. It is to much fun. It makes me wonder what I ever took pictures of before. Sure want anything as cute as Ben.

This is new play gym mat. Too cute!

11 weeks!

Well Ben turned 11 weeks yesterday. We go to the docter on monday for a check up, so we find out how much he ways now. We have been working on on tummy time, but its not Ben favorite yet. Regardless his nech and upper body are getting stronger. It so funny to watch him go through phases, when some days he wants to be held a lot and others when he just wants to sit in bouncy chair for hours. He has figured out that when he kicks his feet his chair will respond by bouncing. He is also smiling all the time now even for strangers that talk to him. Those cool shades are from Andrew and Caroline. Thank you so much he is such a rock star now.
